The data protection act exists to protect us all from unauthorised sharing of personal information held by organisations. The Trust is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Members should be aware that we hold simple information on them (as supplied on the membership application form), but this is limited to those records required to run any organisation that has a membership, namely name, address and email address (if supplied). This information is held both on a computerised database and as paper records.
Whilst these records are held securely and are not passed to any other agencies except Gift Aid claims to HMRC, Members should be aware that these records are held and may, of course, choose for us to delete the information we hold. Of course, it would then be impossible for us to send newsletters or membership renewals! Please contact us if you wish to see what data we hold and if you wish for your details to be removed.
