Stokers Rest

Parking

All parking is free.
On-site parking is available for approximately 10 vehicles.
On steaming days, the on-site parking is reserved for disabled visitors, however ample parking is available approximately 220 yards (200m) from the site. Access to this parking is height restricted to 6ft (1.85m). Vehicles which are too high will be accommodated on-site where there is no restriction.
Visiting historic vehicles and motorbikes will usually be found a space on-site as an added attraction for other visitors.
Please do not park on the road marked with double yellow lines as this will obstruct access by Severn Trent's HGV tanker traffic.

Visitor Centre

Our Visitor Centre contains a display of artefacts relating to the site and information about the sewage treatment process which can no longer be seen.
"Metals from Stones" is a geological and metallurgical display to demonstrate how the iron, steel and brass etc. used around the site in steam engines, pumps and structures is made.
A 12 minute video presentation showing the site in operation can be viewed on request.
On steaming days, a live video link to CD Engine house is available for those visitors who are unable to access the upper floors of the engine house.

Information for wheelchair users

The only area of the museum that cannot be accessed by wheelchairs are the upper floors of the engine houses. All areas are level access except for the Stokers Rest which has a ramp. The surfacing of the grounds is mostly level, but uneven in places. A wheelchair accessible toilet is located adjacent to the Stokers Rest.
